
At Corbetts, we are committed to staying ahead of regulatory changes and maintaining our high standards in surface treatment. With the impending UK ban on TIB-CH06, effective from 21st September 2024, we have made the proactive decision to transition to the new chemical TIB-CH03.
This change comes after extensive consideration and trials, ensuring that we continue to deliver the best available protection, while embracing more sustainable and compliant practices.
TIB-CH03 is a state-of-the-art Trivalent Chromium (Cr3+) passivator. When added to a water quench tank or a dedicated passivation bath, it forms a clear passivation layer that offers robust protection against white rust for up to four months.
In addition to being highly effective, this new coating can also be overpainted, providing flexibility for further treatments or aesthetic adjustments.
The shift from TIB-CH06 to TIB-CH03 reflects our dedication to both compliance and sustainability. With TIB-CH06 soon to be banned, Corbetts is staying ahead of the curve, ensuring that we continue to meet environmental regulations while delivering high-quality, protective surface treatments.
By moving to TIB-CH03, we are not only adapting to future regulatory requirements, but also contributing to a greener and more sustainable future. Trivalent Chromium compounds, such as CH03, are considered more environmentally friendly compared to their hexavalent counterparts.
