When it comes to securing your property boundaries, few materials match the durability and aesthetic appeal of steel fencing. As a leading steel galvanizer in the UK fencing industry, Corbetts has been providing high-quality steel fencing solutions to customers nationwide for over a century.
Steel fencing is one of the most popular material choices for property boundaries in the UK, favoured for its durability, strength, and aesthetic appeal once treated. Steel is flexible to work with and can be customised to suit specific requirements, including height, design, and colour (once galvanized).

Without realising, we see steel fences everywhere; we take them for granted in terms of the protection they offer and the boundaries they provide. Fencing can be obvious as restricting access to a property or a high risk of danger area, or it could be something as innocent as keeping children within a play area.
Steel is very strong and easy to work with, as the material doesn’t warp, rot, or require regular maintenance. All these attributes associated with steel reduces maintenance time and costs significantly, which is a huge benefit when purchasing steel fencing. It’s a big investment; an investment that requires protecting for its longevity.
But even the strength of steel has a weakness – the outside elements. When left untreated for a long period of time against rain and other similar weather, this runs the risk of the steel becoming rusty, brittle, and eventually useless, so costs are incurred to replace and refit. The elements always win, but there is a tried and tested method that reduces these risks allows steel fencing to fight back with long-term protection – hot dip galvanizing.

Hot dip galvanizing is a well renowned effective, environmentally friendly way to protect your steel from corrosion on a long-term basis. It is considered the best way of combating corrosion and protecting your steel, and with over 160 years of history behind us, galvanizing is something we at Corbetts take huge pride in.
While an investment up front, the reduced maintenance requirements of Corbetts’ galvanized and powder coated steel fencing make it a cost-effective long-term solution. Aside from periodic inspections and repairs as needed, steel fencing requires very little in terms of ongoing costs to retain its protective capabilities and attractive appearance for years to come.

Zinc protects your steel, as the parts are submerged in a bath of molten hot zinc at about 450°C (842°F), which is done post-fabrication. Once dipped and processed, the parts can be sent directly to site for installation, ready to be used for many years to come. Our galvanizing process leaves your steel with the shiniest finish possible, due to the addition of aluminium to the bath prior to dipping.
We operate out of our bespoke, purpose-built facility with our two galvanizing baths.
