On Friday 31st October, Corbetts paused production for two hours – not for maintenance, but for music. Our team came together to host a Halloween-themed fundraising event in support of the All Saints Church Organ Restoration Project.
This cause holds special meaning for Corbetts. The All Saints Church in Wellington is closely tied to Corbetts’ history: in 1879, Samuel Corbett Junior, son of our founder, gave the very first performance on the church’s newly installed pipe organ. Nearly 150 years later, that same organ still plays… but now needs major restoration to ensure it continues to fill the church with music for generations to come.
Representatives from All Saints Church, including Andrew Beach (Parochial Church Council) and Jonathan Lloyd (Church Organist), joined Corbetts employees, suppliers, and customers for an afternoon of games, raffles, and plenty of food.
There were handmade bakes from our SMT team – cakes, cookies, sausage rolls, samosas, and pizza and pop meal deals for lunch. Friendly competition came in the form of darts challenges, football scratch cards, and a Spin the Wheel prize game, all adding to the lively atmosphere.
Thanks to the incredible generosity and enthusiasm of everyone involved, we raised £599.40 on the day, in addition to Corbetts’ £2,000 donation to the restoration fund.
For Corbetts, this event was about celebrating the community that’s been part of our story since 1860. The All Saints Church organ has witnessed more than a century of local history, and we’re proud to play our part in ensuring its legacy continues.
A huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, played, and joined us in supporting this cause. Together, we’re helping to keep Wellington’s music alive.

The restoration is estimated at £200,000 + VAT. Before the fundraiser, the project had raised just over £135,000 from grants, legacies and local fundraising. Corbetts made an additional company donation of £2,000!
Donations can be made directly to the All Saints Church restoration fund in three different ways:
A. Pledge an amount for the church to redeem once the work has begun
B. Sponsor a Pipe for £20
C. Donate an amount towards the general restoration costs, online or by cheque.

Yes, the plan is to complete the restoration in time for a special 150th-anniversary concert in 2029, inviting donors and the local community to hear the restored organ.
